President, Midtown Midwifery Collective

Letter from the President

Greetings. It’s an honor to welcome you on behalf of the Midtown Midwifery Collective (MMC). Forming this non-profit has truly been a labor of love with a several year gestation period! Birth can be a positive and empowering experience. It can also be a healing one. That was my experience and yet, most of the stories I was hearing were traumatic and often out of the control of the birthing person full of coercion from others. There had to be a healthier way to process all birthing stories. More importantly, there needed to be a focus on creating and promoting spaces for all types of birthing support in communities.

I believe that doulas and midwives can play an integral role in helping to empower birthing people reclaim their bodies and birthing experience. Through the Midtown Midwifery Collective, I wanted to interfuse my passions for supporting BIPOC birthing people, addressing sexual and domestic violence, providing trauma-responsive support to birthing people, and sharing resources in my community. The mission of MMC is to provide information, support, and services that are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and medically accurate in a client-centered and inclusive environment to improve outcomes related to all reproductive choices.

Our immediate goals are to get the word out that we exist, build our board, and provide resources through our donation center. If you are interested in learning more about us, please do not hesitate to reach out at via email.

                                                                     Here’s to a healthy and happy 2022!
